Rancho La Puerta lies in a valley at the foot of 3,885-feet Mount Kuchumaa. Here, the meandering Kumeyaay Creek meets the Tecate River. The 3,000-acre property offers world-class landscaped gardens, an organic farm, mountainsides and meadows for great hiking and walking experiences. An amazing array of activities, luxury spa amenities and superb spa cuisine await your discovery. For more details: www.rancholapuerta.com/

As one of HYT's Ashram guests at Rancho La Puerta, you will be sharing a comfortable and cozy room. Either in a Rancheras, roomy studio bedrooms with two double beds or a Haciendas, little houses with one bedroom each with two double beds.

In the tradition of retreat-style housing, many of the rooms do not have telephones, and none have a television. If your room has no phone, one is located nearby in a central location.

If you are arriving by car, the guest parking lot is located inside the gated entrance. Your luggage will be delivered and picked up by hand-cart. If you are arriving by plane, Rancho La Puerta provides scheduled, complimentary ground transportation for your Saturday arrival and departure to and from San Diego International Airport. Meals

himalayan yoga traditionRancho La Puerta is renowned for freshly picked produce and nutritious natural foods. Over sixty years of culinary creativity, experimentation and dietary research have culminated in a superb all-natural diet. It is low in fat, sodium, and refined flour and sugar - while high in energy, fiber, and complex carbohydrates.

Following "Slow Food" precepts as much as possible and as attuned to the seasons as they can reasonably be, they procure organic fruits and vegetables from their own extensive organic farm, or from region's purveyors who practice sustainable, organic farming.

The Ranch's diet, which is lacto-ovo vegetarian, includes a seafood "catch of the day" five to six times a week for dinner, and several times for lunch. A vegetarian alternative entrée is always offered for those who don't eat fish or shellfish.
